Couple Sought in Levi’s Shoplifting

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify a couple suspected of shoplifting a large amount of denimwear from the local Sears store.

Las Cruces Police learned that sometime before 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, a young man and woman entered the Sears department store at the Mesilla Valley Mall, loaded several pair of Levi’s denim jeans into a large duffel bag and then left the store without paying for the merchandise.

The couple is suspected of stealing about 30 pair of Levi’s jeans. The total heist is estimated at about $2,000. They were last seeing leaving the parking lot in a red Volkswagen Jetta.

Investigators have reason to believe the couple may reside in Alamogordo, N.M., or possibly frequent that city.
