Bank Robbery Suspect Sought by Police

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps identify the man suspected of Saturday morning’s robbery at Pioneer Bank on University Avenue.

Investigators learned that at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, a masked man walked into Pioneer Bank, at 705 E. University Ave., and handed the teller a note demanding money.

The teller complied and the suspect was last seen leaving the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was captured on surveillance cameras and appears to be Caucasian between the ages of 40-50 and approximately 6-feet-3-inches tall. He was wearing a blue long-sleeve button-up shirt, blue jeans, a baseball cap and eye glasses. He covered his face with a white surgical or dust mask and was carrying a blue backpack.

The bank robbery is being investigated by the FBI and Las Cruces Police Department.
